The Thief River Falls Quilters Guild was born in the summer of 1988.  Milly Dallmann and a group of friends who had a passion for sewing and quilting in particular hosted a show at the local library and asked people who were interested in starting a guild to sign up. 

    A meeting was held and those who signed up were asked to volunteer for positions.  The list is as follows:  President – Milly Dallmann,  Vice Pres. – Yvonne Ode,  Sec/Treasurer – Lois Steiger, Program Chairman – Diane Wilde & Marge Hanson,  Historian – Diane Wilde, Calling Committee – Susy Dowers & Jan Davidson, Susan Rauen – Library Director.  Other members present: Gretchen Roadfeldt,  Marian Gigstad,  Dorothy Hanson,  Pauline Parish,  Lois Amundgaard,  Marlys Johnsrud,  Marian Marquis, & Verna Thompson. A number of these people are still members of the guild 20 years later.  We have grown from this short list to over 70 members. The guild holds monthly meetings every fourth Tuesday of the month except December.
